Transitioning into Developmentally Appropriate Practices (TDAP) Conference

Mark your calendars to attend the 1998, Fourth Annual, Transitioning Into Developmentally Appropriate Practice: Preschool to Primary (TDAP) Conference, April 2 and 3 at the Wichita Airport Hilton. This statewide conference will provide opportunities for educators, administrators, and families of young children to gather information about innovative teaching practices that promote developmentally appropriate educational opportunities for preschool and primary students. Nationally known and "home grown" experts in developmentally appropriate practices (DAP) will share their knowledge throughout this two-day conference. Participants will also have an opportunity to visit various DAP programs in the Wichita area.

This year, the TDAP conference will focus on the topic of Brain Development in young children and its implications for early childhood education and DAP. Other breakout sessions will include topics such as: Multiple Intelligences, DAP Intervention Strategies, Principles of Child Development, Collaborative Classrooms and Transition into New Programs.

The TDAP conference is a collaborative effort supported by many sources including: Kansas Inservice Training System, Kansas State Department of Education, Wichita Public Schools, Kansas Division for Early Childhood, Region VII Resource Access Project/Head Start, and Haysville USD 261. Conference registration flyers will be mailed in January.
