Kansas Early Childhood Leadership Project

The Kansas Early Childhood Leadership Project provides support to and enhances the leadership provided by the Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE). It assists Local Education Agencies (LEAs) in the improvement of educational programs and practices that affect young children with disabilities. It
facilitates networking and information sharing with other LEAs and KSDE.


The Kansas Early Childhood Leadership Project Provides...

Resources to Local Education Agencies (LEAs):

  1. To stay informed about State Performance Plan requirements
  2. To meet yearly targets on State Performance Plan Early Childhood Indicators
  3. To address needs in the Targeted Improvement Plan (TIP) application
  4. To improve Level of Determination
  5. To develop a system to effectively respond to KSDE requests for data
  6. To identify and implement evidence research-based practices

Focused, Individualized and Ongoing:

  1. Professional Development
  2. Consultation
  3. Technical Assistance
  4. Information and Material Sharing

Support for the Early Childhood Indicators on the State Performance Plan:

  1. Indicator 6: Early Childhood Least Restrictive Environment
  2. Indicator 7: Early Childhood Outcomes
  3. Indicator 8: Parent Involvement
  4. Indicator 12: Transition from Part C to Part B
